It was a warm spring night in 1969 when 22-year-old Patricia Bovin tucked her two little boys into bed, believing they were safe in their modest King Street apartment in London, Ontario. But beyond the thin walls and dim glow of her window, someone was watching—waiting. By morning, Patricia was dead.

Stabbed over a dozen times in a silent, frenzied attack. Her children, just one and three years old, were left alone with their mother’s body, crying in the eerie stillness of a crime scene no one had heard.

Her murder barely made the news. There was no manhunt. No outcry. No justice.

London, Ontario, was already earning a reputation as a city where killers roamed unchecked. That same year, the so-called London Chambermaid Slayer left a trail of bodies. But Patricia’s murder didn’t fit the pattern. It bore a chilling resemblance to another—Helga Beer, strangled and abandoned just months earlier. And before that, another young mother, Victoria Mayo, stabbed to death in her home while her child slept nearby.

Coincidence? Or something far more sinister?

One man—Sandor Fulep—confessed to killing Victoria Mayo. DNA would later confirm he was telling the truth. But did he stop at one? Or was he a predator slipping in and out of psychiatric facilities, preying on women who were never supposed to matter?
